In the new, multipolar world that is dawning deep civilizational bonds will inevitably play a central role acting as stable bridges that bring peoples together in all fields of human endeavor, or as cushions that may mitigate the negative results of ongoing conflicts. As our planet undergoes profound environmental and societal changes, the deep common Indo-European roots in History provide the stable soil on which the European and Indian worlds may grow and meet, in the Present and Future.

Greek and Indian Universities have already taken the first steps towards promoting such encounters that draw on historical traditions and common perspectives, by organizing a series of conferences on historical and current interactions between Greece and India, exploring convergences in all sectors of human activity, from trade and philosophy to agriculture and technology. We aim at continuing this pioneering work that brings India closer to Greece, the Mediterranean world and continental Europe.
